Twhirl was a desktop client for Twitter built on the Adobe AIR platform.
In April 2008 it was acquired by the social video startup Seesmic. In April 2009, they launched Seesmic Desktop as its official successor, effectively dead-ending the Twhirl brand. Seesmic itself later pivoted away from consumer social media clients toward enterprise CRM tools before being acquired by Hootsuite in 2012.
